This website or mobile application (this "Site") is owned and operated by Styrolution Group GmbH (together with each of its affiliates, "Styrolution").  Access to and use of this Site by any entity (the "Company") through its employees (each, a "User") constitutes an acknowledgement and agreement by the Company and such User that this Privacy Statement and the General Conditions of Use for this Site (the "Terms of Use") apply to such access and use and are binding on the Company and such User, including the provisions contained in the Terms of Use pertaining to limited liability, indemnification, applicable law and submission to jurisdiction.

Styrolution wants to ensure that Companies and Users understand what information Styrolution gathers, how it is used and the safeguards Styrolution has in place in order to protect that information.  This Privacy Statement applies to this Site and any other Styrolution website that collects data and displays this Privacy Statement.  It does not apply to Styrolution websites that do not display or link to this Privacy Statement or that have their own privacy statements.  This Site may contain links to other websites outside the Styrolution family of websites.  Styrolution is not responsible for the privacy practices of non-affiliated websites.  Users should read the privacy statements of each and every website they visit that collects personally identifiable information.


Collecting Information
Some of this information is provided by Users directly.  Some of it is obtained by observing how Users interact with this Site and Styrolution's products and services.  Styrolution collects this information in a variety of ways, including from web forms, technologies like cookies, web logging and software on Users' computers or other devices.  Regardless of the source, Styrolution believes that it is important to treat that information with care and to help maintain the privacy of Companies and Users.

Visiting this Site - When a User visits this Site, general information is collected automatically (in other words, not by means of registration).  The web servers that are used store the following data by default:

  • The name of the User's internet service provider;
  • The website from which the User visited this Site;
  • The websites which the User visits when he or she is on this Site; and
  • The User's IP address.

This information is analyzed in anonymized form.  It is used solely for the purpose of improving the attractiveness, content and functionality of this Site.

Registration - When a User registers to use this Site, he or she will be required to provide certain personal information (e.g., the Company's name and the User's full name, email address, mailing address, telephone number and mobile phone number).  Styrolution needs this information in order to process and fulfill orders, to notify Users of the status of their orders and to provide Users with other services.

Styrolution uses information it collects to, among other things, (a) communicate with Companies and Users regarding orders, products, services and marketing offers and security updates, (b) update data files and maintain and keep customer accounts current, (c) develop individualized communications, such as preparing personal catalogues or customer catalogues or making recommendations of products or services, (d) improve this Site and the services offered through this Site, (e) prevent or detect any misuse of this Site or the services offered through this Site and (f) permit third parties to perform technical, logistical and other services.  All information collected by Styrolution on or through this Site is the property of Styrolution; provided, however, that Styrolution will not sell any personal information pertaining to any Company or User ("Personal Data") for commercial purposes.

  • In order to identify the Company or a User to enforce, if necessary, compliance with contractual agreements with the Company or such User or applicable laws;
  • Among Styrolution's affiliates;
  • As part of a merger or sale of a business;

Styrolution maintains reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect Personal Data from being manipulated, lost, destroyed or accessed by unauthorized persons.  Where data is passed on to external service providers, Styrolution has taken technical and organizational measures to ensure that the data protection regulations are observed.  While Styrolution works very hard to protect the privacy of Companies and Users, no method of security is 100% effective and Styrolution cannot be responsible for the actions of those who may gain unauthorized access to Personal Data of any Company or User.  Styrolution makes no warranties, express, implied or otherwise as to the ultimate effectiveness of these reasonable and appropriate safeguards.

Styrolution urges all parents and persons supervising children to instruct their children on how to deal with personal data on the Internet in a safe and responsible way.  Children should not transmit personal data to this Site without permission from their parents or the person supervising them.  Styrolution undertakes not to knowingly collect the personal data of children, to use it in any way or to disclose it to third persons.

Changes to this Privacy Statement
Styrolution occasionally updates this Privacy Statement to reflect industry initiatives, changes in law, customer feedback, changes in the products and services offered through this Site, changes in Styrolution's collection or use practices or changes in this Site's features or technology.  All such modifications are effective upon posting on this Site and the continued use of this Site by any User after a revised Privacy Statement is posted signifies the acceptance by such User and his or her Company of the revised Privacy Statement.  It is therefore important that each User reviews this Privacy Statement regularly to ensure that he or she is updated as to any changes.
